People are always going against them, and i mean like mom who but them for kids anyway and polititicians who have never even picked up a freacking controller. WHY?? why must my outlet be flooded with lies and propaganda? anyone have any ideas?

Here's where I'm coming from. Several times during the campaign and even in some of his speeches after he took the presidential office, President Obama said that parents need to turn off the television and put away the video games. It seems like he's using video games as an excuse for underachievement in today's youth and society. Yet It's well known that his daughters got a Nintendo Wii for Christmas last year and he himself has said that he plays video games with his daughters. He plays Mario and the Wii sports games. So my question is, do you think he's for video games, or against them? Don't get me wrong, I think he's doing a good job as president. This is just something that I don't understand.

I say some because my mom loves them, has no problem with them, and plays right along with me and I don't mean Wii for those who are wondering. But the point is why are parents so against the games THEY willing buy for their kids???I have been playing violent and mature rated video games for years but I've never let it influence me. I don't advise others too but that's just how much my mother trusted my judgment of reality and fantasy. But I mean seriously who goes outside steals a taxi cab and shoots up the neighborhood for kicks.....anyone??? I didn't think so...I recently watched a debate about one of my favorite games Mass Effect and I couldn't believe what I was hearing...it made no sense at all and I personally think parents should play the game then criticize it...it prevents people from calling them an idiots....
